Our thoughts and humble prayers
go out to all the victims and their next of kin
in
Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida
and to all those who have opened their homes to these refugees.

Our prayers are with you.

God Bless All

Wind Woman

I thought I saw you just before
A ravaging wind tore through the ocean
Stirring up lost fury that had no one in mind to strike
Yet she tore nature’s claws across the surface of
The House of the Rising Sun

This woman with no human form was not a lover scorned
She did not have a face to seek out
amongst the dead lying in her wake
To let her know that her vengeance had not been in vain
That terrible task was left to us in our weaker forms,
to seek out those Who might have been one of our own

I took a walk in that vain semblance of a dream
The French Quarter was lost to me, a memory drowned
I could only see broken souls waiting for me,
The dead...
and the walking dead...
were the only ones to greet me

In their faces I saw, what could not be broken,
But who would piece the mosaic from the sherds?
I saw the sunlight reflecting
on the watery pathways to the new Atlantis
Rays were shattered by the morbid waste left in her wake
And now we scream her name, piecing together truth
Trying to find some piece of hope
As the waters ebb.
